Italian regional grocery retailer Gruppo Abate has rolled out a new store format located in Misterbianco, near Catania, Sicily.

The retailer says that the new concept, Grande A, introduces an innovative shopping experience with the aim of radically evolving customer-acquired purchasing habits, providing greater simplicity and concrete savings.

Shopping Formula

The store operates a 'multiple purchase' formula, meaning that when customers buy greater quantities of the same product, they will see the price drop down proportionally.

Customers will be able to choose from five purchase options: Formula Single (purchase of a single product); Formula Multi (at least three of the same product); Formula Pack (the same product sold in boxes); and Formula HoReCa.

The last three purchase options are only available to holders of the Gruppo Abate loyalty card.

Gruppo Abate is present in the Sicilian provinces of Catania, Siracusa, Messina, Trapani, Caltanissetta and Enna, under different banners from neighbourhood stores to hypermarkets. It is also part of grocery retail distribution group Selex.
