Gruppo VéGé To Introduce Home Delivery Service With Glovo
Italy's Gruppo VéGé has teamed up with Glovo to offer customers home delivery service for groceries within 40 minutes.
The exclusive agreement and national partnership will see the use of Glovo's Quick-Commerce service that ensures rapid delivery of groceries and other everyday products.
It will involve the entire VéGé sales network, which includes 33 companies operating throughout Italy, with over 3,400 sales outlets.
The agreement will guarantee a speedy home delivery service, seven days a week, within the opening hours of stores.
'An Important Step'
Giorgio Santambrogio, CEO of Gruppo VéGé, said, "The agreement reached with Glovo in rapid delivery is an important step in the multi-touchpoint strategy, which we have been pursuing for some time.
"This collaboration allows us to transfer to the member companies an additional digital channel of great impact to cultivate the fiduciary relationship between their points of sale and customers, consolidating their role of concrete and proactive reference in the choices and the daily buying experiences."
The Gruppo VéGé member companies have already integrated home delivery and click and collect options on purchases made on their e-commerce platforms.
Multi-Category Delivery Platform
Glovo is a multi-category delivery platform that enables consumers to receive all kinds of products at home.
Last year, the company became a benchmark for various services, including grocery shopping, which saw a 400% growth.
The trend should continue in the post-pandemic period, as it responds to new consumer habits focused on convenience and immediacy, the company said.
Gruppo VéGé's partnership with Glovo is the second after it signed an agreement with online shopping marketplace Everli (formerly Supermercato 24) for home delivery to the entire national VéGé sales network in January of this year.
