Italy's ARD Discount Sees LFL Sales Up 29.5% In 2020

Sicily-based discount chain ARD Discount has reported a 29.5% growth in like-for-like sales in its financial year 2020.

In this period, the retail chain witnessed sales growth of €60 million compared to 2019.

ARD Discount offers the best quality at the lowest price with a strong link to local communities and an ever-increasing range of private-label products.

The retail chain offers ten private label brands, including 'Terre e Tesori di Sicilia,' which features products reflecting genuine craftsmanship and uniqueness of Sicilian tradition.

The 'Sfornasole' range offers sweet and savoury baked goods and pastry products.

New Stores

Over the past year, ARD Discount opened 45 new stores mainly under the franchise model, taking the total number of outlets to over 150 in Sicily and Calabria.

The retail chain is owned by retail consortium Ergon, a concessionaire of Despar Italia in Sicily.

Ergon's network comprises more than 300 stores, including Interspar, Eurospar, Despar, Maxisconto, ARD Discount and AltaSfera cash and carry.

It operates in the provinces of Agrigento, Caltanissetta, Catania, Enna, Palermo, Ragusa, Siracusa, and Trapani.
