Romanian grocery retailer Profi opened five new supermarkets last week in Iasi, Sacele, Darasti Vlasca, Pielesti and Potcoava.
Two stores are of the City banner – the supermarket in Iasi has a total area of 318 square metres, while the one in Sacele has a total area of 454 square metres.
In Darasti Vlasca, Pielesti and Potcovava the retailer has opened stores in the Loco format, with total areas of 314 square metres, 312 square metres, and 363 square metres respectively.
Expansion
With the latest openings, Profi now has 561 stores in 301 locations, with a team of nearly 12,000 employees, strengthening its position as the retailer with the largest geographic reach in Romania.
Recently the retail business was acquired by private equity firm Mid Europa Partners.
