Sofidel Introduces Workplace Health Promotion Programme
The Italian company, known for the Regina and KittenSoft brands, has joined the programme, developed by the World Health Organisation, which aims to promote healthy lifestyles among employees.
The campaign deals with adopting good practice with relation to nutrition, physical activity, smoking, alcohol, road safety and sustainable mobility, well-being at work, and work–life balance.
An event promoting good nutrition habits was organised last week at the Porcari headquarters for Sofidel’s Italian employees, in collaboration with the Gruppo Ospedaliero San Donato Foundation of Milan.
Sofidel said that ‘particular emphasis has been placed on the potential harm resulting from the combination of sedentary habits and a nutritionally inadequate diet – rich in added sugars, salt and low-quality fats – which contributes to the onset of obesity and chronic degenerative diseases’.
The non-profit Gruppo Ospedaliero San Donato Foundation promotes scientific research and disease prevention within the region. It has recently developed a specific sustainable nutrition programme - EAT Educational.
This programme extends the scope of Sofidel’s 'Feed Your Health' campaign, and sees the introduction of new food and drink vending machines in the group’s plants, which provide employees with healthy alternatives to sugary snacks.
