Tegut's LandPrimus Awarded Gold By German Agriculture Society

German retailer Tegut has announced that meat products from its LandPrimus programme have been awarded gold medals by the German Agricultural Society.

The selected ranges include poultry, beef and pork products, which are all available in full- and self-service Tegut markets.

Organic Quality

"Good meat from local farms – that's a matter of the heart," a Tegut spokesperson said. "That is why we have been cooperating with the Tegut LandPrimus Producer Group for more than 20 years."

Tegut’s LandPrimus range received gold medals for its chicken breast fillets and chicken thighs in the poultry category, and ground beef, beef roulades, roast beef, and soup meat in the beef category.

It swept up a rake of awards in the pork category, winning gold for its pork schnitzel, grilled belly, pork neck steak, pork neck steak herbs, pork steak peppers, pork neck steak pepper, pork chops, and coarse sausage.

The LandPrimus programme guarantees a fair partnership with farmers, as well as the clear origin of the animals from selected regions. All LandPrimus products carry the VLOG 'GMO-free' certificate.

In January, Tegut posted a sales increase of 1.2% for 2017, surpassing the €1 billion sales mark for the first time. The retailer posted full-year sales of €1.008 billion, up from €996 million in 2016.
