Don't Worry, There's No Global Shortage Of Condoms, Says Durex Owner

Reckitt Benckiser, the owner of the Durex brand, has reassured customers that there is no global shortage of condoms, following reports about manufacturing stoppages at Malaysian production facilities.

Reports at the weekend suggested that condom production had been halted for more than a week at the Karex Bhd facility in Malaysia, which produces one in five condoms globally, due to coronavirus.

No Change To Supply

However, Reckitt Benckiser said that while it was aware of the media reports, it was not facing supply issues.

'Durex would like to confirm that all of our operations are working as normal and we are not experiencing any supply shortages,' it said.

In addition, it added that for consumers that were unable to access stores, its Durex online stores remained open for business.
