General Mills Appoints New Chief Digital And Technology Officer

General Mills has announced that it has appointed Jaime Montemayor as the company's chief digital and technology officer, effective 24 February.

He will report to the company's chairman and chief executive officer, Jeff Harmening.

Montemayor will oversee the IT and technology solutions teams and lead the company's digital transformation efforts, the Cheerios maker said.

He will also shoulder the responsibility to build new capabilities that will advance innovation and speed to market.

Commenting on the appointment, Harmening, said, "Customers and consumers set the pace in today’s hyper-connected world – and they’re moving fast. And they are rewarding companies that anticipate their needs and make their lives easier."

"At the heart of this transformation is the unprecedented availability of data. Jaime has impressive credentials in this space and will help us deepen our connection with consumers through data and ultimately help us win in the marketplace."

'An Experienced Professional'

Montemayor is an experienced professional who spent 21 years with PepsiCo in various roles including that of senior vice-president and chief information officer, digital innovation, data, and analytics.


He led several IT-enabled business transformations, spearheaded the development of the PepsiCo analytics-at-scale strategy, and deployed innovative capabilities to better prepare the company for future retail and consumer trends.

Most recently, he served as the chief technology officer of 7-Eleven, responsible for the enterprise commercial, innovation, and data and analytics teams.

Throughout his career, Montemayor has focussed on developing talent and building strong teams in North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia.
