Mars Food, a segment of Mars Incorporated, has announced that it is acquiring Preferred Brands International, a US-based manufacturer of Indian and Asian food products sold primarily under the Tasty Bite brand.
Tasty Bite’s product range includes ready-to-heat meal kits, organic rice and lentils, as well as vegetarian offerings. It will be added to the Mars Food portfolio, which includes prepared and dry rice and grains, sauces, meal kits and spices marketed under various brands.
Expansion
While the majority of Tasty Bite’s sales are manufactured in India and generated in North America, Preferred Brands International also manufactures products that are sold through retailers in the UK and Australia and through foodservice in India.
