PepsiCo joins U.S. Charity 'Feed The Children' To Help Families With School Expenses

Multinational PepsiCo and charity Feed the Children have co-hosted an event, donating £28,000 in food and school-essentials to help 800 selected families in Philadelphia (Pennsylvania) prepare for the new school year. Each family will receive a week's supply of food, snacks, bottled water, school-essentials and books.

"We're proud to join Feed the Children, to lighten families' loads and provide them with resources that can help set them up for a successful school year", said Jim Duffy, operations manager for the mid-Atlantic Philadelphia district of PepsiCo's Frito-Lay division.

This is the third Back-To-School event PepsiCo and Feed the Children have hosted together in Philadelphia. More than 25% of the population of Philadelphia, which is the fifth largest city in U.S, is living below the poverty line.

Feed the Children was founded in 1979, to help end child hunger. Today it is one of the largest charities in the U.S., providing food, education, essentials and disaster relief to those in need, in the U.S. and in ten other countries around the world.
