Constellation Brands has announced that it has acquired a minority stake in the Colorado-based craft rum business, Montanya Distillers.
The founder, president, and chief executive of the business, Karen Hoskin, will continue to lead the business, Constellation Brands said in a statement.
She will be responsible for the management, production, marketing and selling of the company's high-performing, award-winning rums like Montanya Platino, Montanya Oro, and Montanya Exclusiva.
Female Founders Programme
The Corona owner made the transaction through Constellation Brands Ventures’ Focus on Female Founders programme.
The initiative supports female-founded and female-led businesses involved in disruptive and innovative work in the beverage alcohol segment.
The companies have not disclosed details about the transaction.
