Germany's Globus Teams Up With IRI On Data Sharing Technology
German hypermarket chain Globus has announced that it has selected big data firm IRI as its main data sharing and technology partner.
IRI's 'holistic retail solution' (IRI HRS) will become the retailer's primary technology platform, allowing the company to decide what to stock in its stores, as well as the best promotional strategies and retail processes.
IRI says that the platform makes it possible to combine and interrogate multiple complex datasets to ensure 'faster and better' decision making and collaboration with suppliers.
Other retailers using IRI's HRS include Tesco, Conad, Kroger, and Waitrose.
“We live in a time of rapid change," said Melanie Wöffler, head of management process and information at Globus.
"For us as a retail company, but also for our suppliers, it is important to know the needs of our customers and make the best use of them. With the IRI HRS technology, we are able to bundle all relevant and to share it with our suppliers on a clear online platform."
Globus operates 46 self-service hypermarket outlets across Germany, along with 27 hypermarkets in the Czech Republic and Russia.
