Kesko Group's Grocery Division Sees Sales Up 1.6% In November
Finland's Kesko Group has reported a 1.6% increase in sales in its grocery trade division to €470.4 million in November.
Grocery sales in K-food stores increased by 6.9%, while sales in Kespro dropped by 19.9% due to COVID-19 related restrictions on restaurants and events, and people working from home.
The company's total sales amounted to €875.0 million in November 2020 and strengthened in comparable terms from the year before.
President and CEO of Kesko, Mikko Helander, said, "Kesko's sales grew in November by 2.9% in comparable terms. Sales to K-food stores grew in the grocery trade.
"In the building and technical trade, growth was strong in Finland, Sweden and Norway. Sales decreased in the car trade, but demand for electric cars in particular grew."
Between January and November, the group's grocery business saw sales worth €5.2 billion, up 3% compared to the same period last year.
In Finland, Kesko Group's total sales amounted to €8.1 billion, up 2.7% on a comparable basis.
Total sales increased by 2.9% on a comparable basis in this period, amounting to €9.95 billion.
