Lenta Opens 37th Supermarket In Moscow

Russian retailer Lenta has announced the opening of its thirty seventh supermarket in Moscow, located in Tuchkovo.

The new store is spread over an area of 1,053 square metres, with 640 square metres of selling space. It will be open seven days a week, from 8am to 11pm.

The outlet features an assortment of 5,500 SKUs designed for Moscow residents, including Lenta’s private labels and federal product ranges, alongside local produce. The outlet also includes six cash registers.

Continued Expansion

This is Lenta’s seventeenth supermarket opening in 2017, and brings the total number of stores to 201 hypermarkets in 79 regions across Russia and 65 supermarkets in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg and the Central region.

The retailer reported that sales rose 16.7% to RUB 163.5 billion in the first half of 2017, however, like-for-like sales were down by 1.8%.
