Morrisons Poaches Sainsbury's Staff

Sainsbury’s key marketing executive Rebecca Singleton is to move to Morrisons in March to take up the position of marketing director. Singleton will hold responsibility for advertising, corporate branding, marketing and in-store issues at Morrisons. She will report to corporate marketing and commercial director Richard Lancaster.

Singleton was responsible for non-food marketing and the partnership between the Sainsbury’s TU clothing brand and celebrity stylist Gok Wan. The news follows Sainbury’s December announcement that brand director Claire Harrison-Church will leave the company.

“Maintaining the momentum of our marketing activity and putting customer experience at the heart of everything we do are key to delivering Morrisons ambitious plans for 2012. These moves ensure we have the right talent in the right places,” said the company. (10 Jan)
