Pop-up Store Success For Unes Private Label Sales

Italian food retailer Unes has reported booming sales for its pop-up shop dedicated to its premium private label brand, Il Viaggiator Goloso.

Over 12,000 panettone Christmas cakes alone were sold in the one-month period, with an average of 400 units sold per day.

The range of items on sale included more than 100 products, including five varieties of panettone and a selection of items available all year round in Unes and U2 stores, such as fresh stuffed pasta and pastry lines.

The pop-up store in Milan was open during the Christmas and New Year festive season, from December 5 2015 to January 6 2016.

This positive result comes on top of the 26.4 per cent growth in sales of the private label brand in 2015, amounting to €34.9 million.

Overall, the retailer’s private label brands accounted for 38.5 per cent of total sales, with Il Viaggiator Goloso contributing 6.4 per cent).
