John Lewis Weekly Sales Hit £100m As Christmas Countdown Begins

John Lewis has revealed that sales in the week ending 14 November increased by 1.5 per cent on last year and by 15.8 per cent on the previous week.

The result came on the back of a spike in sales as the retailer secured its first £100m week in the run up to the massive festive season for retailers.

John Lewis, the only major British retailer to publish weekly sales data, is feeling the positive effects of the recent launch of its well received Christmas advertising campaign, 'The Man on the Moon'

John Lewis added had the campaign so far has outperformed last year’s ‘Monty the Penguin’ with 22 million views in its first week.

The retailer's latest figures found that customer were increasingly using its online platform, with an estimated two thirds having visited by the website and a store.
