Spar Poland Opens Three New Stores

Spar Poland has opened three new stores as part of a drive to expand and diversify its brand in the country.

The new stores range in size from 180 to 890 square metres, and include the group's recently-introduced Spar Express convenience store format. They are located in the south of the country.

The largest of the three stores is located in the Quick Park shopping centre in Mysłowice, which boasts a sales area of 890 square metres, and opening hours between 8am-9pm Monday to Saturday, 9am-8pm on Sunday.

It offers a selection of products, including locally-sourced fruits and vegetables an in-store bakery, an extensive deli selection and a large choice of fresh fish, according to Spar.

The retailer’s private labels are displayed at the store entrance, in order to give them more prominence and help Spar distinguish itself from its local competitors, according to the retailer.

Quick Park is the only modern shopping centre in the area with a choice of 45 outlets, mostly clothes stores and fast food restaurants. It is also home to the only cinema in the area and attracted over two million visitors in 2017.

The other two stores are the Spar Supermarket in Zabierzów, which boasts a sales area of 270 square metres and a Spar Express store in Bławatków, which has a retail sales area of 180 square metres.

The retailer currently operates more than 200 stores in Poland and recently introduced its Spar Express convenience format after a trial period in Krakow last November.

At the end of last year, the retailer launched its new mobile app for Apple and Android users in Poland to provide customers with an additional sales and communication channel.
