Rewe Digital CEO JJ Van Oosten To Leave Retailer

German retailer Rewe Group has announced that the CEO of its digital operations, Jean-Jaques van Oosten, is leaving the company for personal reasons.

Van Oosten joined Rewe Group in December 2013 after holding positions at Kingfisher, Tesco and Travis Perkins.

"I would like to thank JJ van Oosten for his commitment and his success in setting up e-commerce and digitisation activities within Rewe Group's various business areas," said Lionel Souque, CEO of Rewe Group.

New Appointment

The retailer also announced that van Oosten is set to be replaced by digital operations director Christoph Eltze, who has worked for the company since May 2014. He previously held a number of positions at McKinsey for 15 years, primarily in the food sector for national and international trading companies.

"With Christoph Eltze as the new CEO of Rewe Digital, we ensure seamless continuity in the development of our e-commerce and digitisation activities," added Souque.
