Żabka Donates PLN4.5mn To Tackle Coronavirus Pandemic In Poland

Polish retailer Żabka has announced that it has donated PLN 4.5 million (€1.01 million) to the ministry of health to aid the government in handling coronavirus outbreak in the country.

The company said that the safety and health of all Polish citizens is a priority and it recognises the need to collectively deal with the emergency.

President of Żabka Polska, Tomasz Suchański commented, “We appreciate the engagement of healthcare professionals, ministries, and the units they supervise.

“For this reason, as a company, we decided to financially support the institutions that play a strategic role in solving the problems that concern us all.”

The number of people affected with the virus reached 238 on March 17, according to a report in gazeta.pl.

The retailer has also implemented several measures to ensure the safety of its employees in stores, logistics centres, and offices.

These include limited operating hours, disinfectants and gloves for store employees, plexiglass dividers to separate cashiers from customers, and improvised hygiene regimes in logistics centres.

Franchisees can also specify the number of people who arrive at the store at one time, the retailer added.
