BAT has announced the appointment of Zafar Khan as the director of operations and a member of the management board, effective 1 February.
Currently, Khan serves as group head of new categories operations.
He joined BAT in Pakistan 24 years ago and acquired extensive experience in global operations and supply chain functions.
He served as the regional operations director of Asia Pacific and the Middle East and group head of planning, services and logistics.
Khan succeeds Alan Davy, who will step down from the management board on 31 January and leave the group on 31 May 2021.
Davy joined BAT in 1998 and spent 32 years in the company. He served as a member of the management board for eight years.
Commenting on the changes, chief executive Jack Bowles said, "I would like to thank Alan [Davy] for the enormous contribution he has made to the group throughout his 32-year career at BAT. Alan [Davy]'s transformation of operations into a dynamic, multi-category function has been a key component of our A Better Tomorrow strategy.
