Nestlé Invests In Product Safety And Food Safety Awareness

Transnational food, snack and beverage company Nestlé has invested over €27 million in the Nestlé Quality Assurance Centre (NQAC) in Dublin, Ohio (USA), to improve the centre's testing capacity. Nestlé tests more than 3 million samples each year, to ensure that the quality of its products is uncompromised. The samples are collected worldwide.

The new investment establishes the NQAC in Ohio as the largest and most sophisticated of Nestlé's testing facilities. The centre, which has almost doubled in size, allows the company to test products, ingredients and manufacturing environments.

In a separate campaign, promoting industrial food-safety standards at home, the company has posted 'Seven Tips For Preparing Safe Food' on its website.

Selecting safe recipes (for example, regarding food allergies), sourcing ingredients carefully, maintaining high standards of hygiene, separating cooked- and raw foods, cooking things properly and storing foods safely are discussed in the first six tips. The seventh tip asks readers to share their knowledge on food-safety.
