Edeka Stores Win Awards At Deutscher Frucht Preis Ceremony

German retailer Edeka has announced that three of its stores won awards for 'Best Fruit and Vegetable Department' at the Deutscher Frucht Preis (German Fruit Prize) Awards 2017.

Its E-Center Wagner in Coburg won for the fifth time in the large supermarket category, Marktkauf in Halle took the prize for the consumer market, whilt Edeka Frische Centre in Filderstadt-Bonlanden won in the special price convenience category.

Fresh Food Specialists

"Our merchants are the top fresh-food specialists," said Markus Mosa, chairman of the board of Edeka. "Nobody puts the fruit and vegetables in the spotlight as the teams in our markets. We are delighted that this top-of-the-line performance is honored."

The winners were selected based on an extensive evaluation and unannounced market checks by the judges. The award ceremony took place earlier this week in Baden-Baden.
