As one of the leading producers and processors of carrots in the Netherlands, Harries stands for quality, sustainability and flexibility. Harries supplies retail and foodservice businesses with quality products all year round, produced in a sustainable way.
Consumers are increasingly looking for healthy convenience foods. With this in mind, Harries understands that the popularity of vegetable snacks or so-called 'baby carrots' fits perfectly into this trend, offering a lovely bite directly from the refrigerator.
In developing its snacking-carrots range, Harries works with the Imperator variety, which has a bright, sweet taste and a crispy bite. This highly valued product is available all year round, and Harries grows the Imperator mainly in Brabant and Zeeland, but also in Germany and Southern Europe.
From mid-June until the end of December, all of Harries' carrots are harvested straight from the soil, and between January and April, they can be cultivated in straw or come out of refrigeration. Between May and June, the carrot is imported from abroad.
Finally, a nice snack like this demands user-friendly packaging – an area in which Harries specialises.
