Morrisons Introduces ‘Speedy Shopping’ For Customers Buying Fewer Items

UK retailer Morrisons has announced that it has introduced a ‘Speedy Shopping’ facility for customers purchasing a small basket of essentials.

The service ensures that customers buying fewer items queue for lesser time outside the store and have access to dedicated checkout counters.

The retailer has introduced separate ’Speedy Shopping’ and ‘Big Shop’ queues outside its stores.

'Convenient For Customers'

Chief executive of Morrisons, David Potts, said, “It’s fair that customers doing smaller shopping trips should queue for less time too. Speedy Shopping will ensure that Morrisons stores will be more convenient for customers wanting a small basket of items."

Customers using the 'Speedy Shopping' option will have access to self-scan as well as manually operated checkout counters.

The retailer also plans to convert the payment mode in more self-scan tills to ‘card only’ for a quicker checkout process.
