Mobile Phone Outlets To Open In X5 Retail Group Stores
Russia's X5 Retail Group and global telecommunications service-provider VimpelCom Ltd. have agreed to open over 1,600 'Beeline' mobile phone outlets in X5's Pyaterochka discount stores by the end of 2017.
By offering additional services, the partnership will boost the X5 stores' customer numbers and provide VimpelCom's 'Beeline' brand with the opportunity to expand. Before the end of this year, 950 new Beeline outlets and points of sale will be opened in Pyaterochka stores.
The project extends across 20 Russian regions and over 500 points of sale are to be opened in the Moscow and St. Petersburg (urban) areas.
The 'Beeline' outlets will be located near checkout areas and will include both full-scale telecom-stores and service desks- and counters. Beeline counters will sell key tariff plans and process requests concerning equipment and mobile numbers, while the stores will also have equipment for sale.
The project is part of a X5 Retail Group strategy to develop in-store partnerships with services which are in demand - such as pharmacies, children’s stores, repair- and service kiosks and bakers.
