Italian Retailers Expand Private Label Ranges

Italian retailers Despar Italia, Gruppo SUN and GROS have expanded their private label offering with a range of new products.

Despar Italia has unveiled a premium selection of PDO and PGI extra virgin olive oils, as part of its ongoing commitment to support local supply chains.

This includes an extra virgin olive oil Riviera dei Fiori DOP from the Ligurian Riviera and a Veneto DOP Garda orientale, produced from olives sourced from Lake Garda.

The range also features a Toscano PGI and Chianti Classico PDO from Tuscany and Umbria respectively, as well as a PDO Colli Assisi Spoleto, also from Umbria, as well as oils from Puglia, Calabria and Sicily.

Mineral Water

Elsewhere, Gruppo SUN has selected Gubbio-based bottled mineral water company Società Italiana Acque Minerali (SIAMI) to supply the new L’Oro Blu reference for its private label brand Consilia.

The new water is bottled in Italy’s Umbria region, from the Viva source in the Cerreto Valley. With the latest addition, Consilia’s mineral water assortment now consists of nine SKUs.

Finally, Gruppo Romano Supermercati (GROS) has launched 'Vicini a te. I prodotti del nostro territorio', a project that aims to meet the needs of consumers who prefer to buy products from the Lazio region by offering local suppliers the opportunity to sell their products in 140 GROS SKU.
