Nestlé Promotes Healthy Eating For Children On International Chef's Day

Food giant Nestlé teamed up with Worldchefs - a global network of chefs and culinary professionals - to celebrate International Chef's Day on 20 October 2018.

The theme for this year was ‘Healthy Foods for Growing Up’, which was aimed at making children understand the importance of eating healthy to achieve their ambitions.

Every year, more than 4,000 chefs from Worldchefs and Nestlé Professional take part in the event, which comprises a host of fun-filled healthy eating workshops for children.

The 2017 edition of the campaign took place across 56 countries, with more than 37,000 children taking part in the event.

Industry Initiatives

Nestlé Professional has also announced a new initiative - Chef’s Pantry - which seeks to simplify recipes, using the same ingredients that chefs stock in their own pantries.

Earlier this year, Nestlé launched Nestlé for Healthier Kids - a global initiative to help 50 million children live healthier lives by 2030.

It included a commitment to accelerate the transformation of Nestlé’s food and beverage portfolio at a global level.

Among the commitments the company made were pledges to add more fruits, vegetables, fibre-rich grains, and micronutrients, as well as continue to reduce sugars, salt and saturated fats in its products.
