Continente Named 'Most Empathic' Portuguese Brand

Hypermarket chain Continente has been named the 'most empathic' Portuguese brand, according to the Who Cares – Empatia das Marcas study.

The study, developed by comOn in partnership with Netquest, analysed 50 brands distributed in eight categories.

Respondents were asked to name the brands that they consider to be able to address the feelings, needs and difficulties of consumers and, at the same time, offer products or services that respond to them.

Contienente came out on top in the ranking, mentioned by 353 of 1,004 polled, followed by Pingo Doce (255), Nestlé (191), Lidl (121) and Meo (100).

In a statement, the retailer said it won the distinction due to it offering a greater variety of products at lower prices, its focus on the quality of fresh produce, the expansion of the range of healthy products, the promotion of domestically-sourced products, and its close relationship with local communities.
