Coop Switzerland Names New Leaders For City, Vitality Chains

Coop Switzerland has announced a number of senior leadership changes, with new managers set to take the helm at Coop City and Coop Vitality.

Christian Staub has been named as the new head of the Coop City department store business, succeeding Bruno Veit, who has been interim manager since May 2017.

Staub has held a number of management positions at retailers such as Esprit and Lidl, and will now be tasked with the renovation of several department stores, and the implementation of Coop's new department store concept.

"Coop City has established itself in a constantly evolving market," said Staub. "I look forward to the challenges that lie ahead and to being able to participate in the future development of the brand."

Meanwhile, Coop has also named Virginie Pache Jeschka as the new boss of pharmacy chain Coop Vitality, succeeding Daniele Madonna, who has led the business since 2014.

Jeschka was previously manager of beauty brand Caudalie in the Swiss, Germany and Austrian markets, and prior to that, worked as category manager and sales manager at L'Oréal Cosmétique Active Suisse.

She will be tasked with continuing the business' growth, and developing an online store.

"It is important for customers to continue to see the added value of a Coop Vitality pharmacy compared to another pharmacy," Jeschka said.

"Our consulting activities, our range of products, but also our services and our choice of natural remedies are the key to this choice."
