Edeka Nord has announced the appointment of Frank Breuer as its new managing director, effective 1 June 2020.
He will share the responsibility with Stefan Giese and Martin Steinmetz, who also serve as managing directors of the company.
Breuer will focus on strengthening digitisation and technological development of Edeka Nord and its independent merchants through the newly created management department for information technology.
'A Proven Expert'
Commenting on the appointment, Wolfgang Matthiessen, chairman of the supervisory board of Edeka Nord, said, “We are pleased that with Frank Breuer we have been able to gain a proven expert for merchandise management and digitisation for the management.”
Most recently, he served as the managing director of Edeka subsidiary, Bringmeister GmbH in Berlin.
Before this, he was part of Edeka Digital, previously known as LUNAR GmbH, for eight years.
He holds a degree in business informatics and business administration as well as a general management diploma from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland.
