German retailer Edeka Südwest has announced the opening of a new store in Meßstetten.

The store, which opens on 11 October, will be operated by Klaus Koch, who has two other Edeka outlets in Bisingen and Rosenfeld.

The outlet is 1,900 square metres in size, and employs a staff of 42 people and two apprentices. It will be open from Monday to Saturday, from 8am to 9pm.

Store Features

The new store features an assortment of 22,000 items, with a focus on fresh fish and meat, regional and local products, as well as organic and vegetarian ranges.

At the entrance there is a large fruit and vegetable department, which features products from Lake Constance and the island of Reichenau. The wine cellar offers a wide selection of national, international and regional wines.

The store also focuses on environmental sustainability, by installing an LED lighting system and a heat pump.
