Jumbo Announces Plan To Deliver Groceries On Sundays

Dutch retailer Jumbo Supermarkten has announced plans to deliver groceries on Sundays, starting with a pilot project on 13 September.

The retailer aims to meet the continuous growth in demand for home delivery and online orders through this initiative.

Highlights Of The Service

The service will be available to customers of around 250 Jumbo stores in northern and central Netherlands, North Brabant and Zeeland.

The retailer will charge €7.95 for Sunday deliveries and customers can place their orders until 23:59 on Friday evenings.

E-commerce manager at Jumbo, Jurriaan Pouw, said, “In order to meet the demand from our customers, we are constantly looking to expand the delivery options. This now includes home delivery on Sundays from our hubs in Amsterdam, Breda, 's-Hertogenbosch, Middelburg and Utrecht.

“At the beginning of 2021, we will open a new e-fulfilment centre in Bleiswijk, which will allow us to significantly expand our capacity again.”
