Studenac Takes Over Retail Chain Strahinjčica

Studenac – Croatia’s largest retailer, in terms of store count – has announced the acquisition of retail chain Strahinjčica d.o.o.

Strahinjčica operates 47 retail outlets in Zagorje and the surrounding area and employs almost 200 employees.

Studenac added that the latest takeover is a continuation of the company’s continuous growth in recent years, by strengthening its positions in Zagreb and Varaždin counties.

Northern Croatia

“Studenac continues with its business strategy of growth and development, and by taking over the Strahinjčica chain, we also strengthened our position in central and northern Croatia,” said Michał Seńczuk, president of the Studenac management board.

“Joining the Strahinjčica stores in the Studenac network once again confirms our thesis that proximity formats like ours have great potential and advantages, and we successfully use them to fit into various new local communities, but also to integrate more deeply into those where we are already present,” Seńczuk added.

Infobip Partnership

This month, Studenac launched a new project in partnership with Infobip, a global cloud communication platform.

The retailer announced that the new service will help Studenac respond to the growing expectations of customers for faster engagement.

“The great effort of our team has already brought us to a leading position in the domestic retail sector, in terms of the number of stores, but we are not done yet,” Seńczuk said.

“We will continue to grow, thanks to these initiatives based on digital technologies, aiming for a market share of more than 10% and a position among the top three Croatian retailers by revenue in the next three years.”
