Albert Heijn Opens Click-And-Collect In Belgium

The Dutch grocer Albert Heijn is now selling its goods online in Belgium.

The firm has initially created three pick-up stations for the click-and-collect service, respectively located in Antwerp, Lokeren and Ghent.

The openings coincide with the supermarket chain's revamping of its Belgian website.

Luc De Baets, a general manager of Albert Heijn Belgium, was quoted as saying, "We want a broad range, a personal service and low prices, even on the internet. AH.be is like one of our new stores, because we feel the experience should be similar everywhere."

The retailer also recently expanded its fresh produce line, with the introduction of stick shapes of kohlrabi, carrot, yellow bell pepper, red bell pepper, and cucumber, which are cut to be eaten with dips such as hummus.
