Minipreço, the Portuguese unit of Spanish retailer DIA, has launched a new app, which acts a digital version of the supermarket's customer loyalty card.
According to the company, the new app serves as a digital support for the loyalty card, making discount coupons available to customers on their mobile phone, and providing access to all the deals of the Minipreço and Clarel store banners.
The Minipreço app is now available to download Android and iOS operating systems.
The launch is part of DIA Portugal's digital transformation strategy, which aims to enhance the shopping experience by encouraging the sharing of information directly with the customer.
According to the group's director of marketing, communications and digital, Bruno Monteiro, customers will also be able to use the app to check how much they spent and how much they saved per month and year; make a shopping list and use it when they go to the store; and locate the nearest Minipreço or Clarel store, with all the details of the route.
