Tegut Launches Digital Customer Loyalty Programme

German retailer Tegut has announced the launch of a new digital customer loyalty programme - tebonus.

Summarising the plan behind tebonus, Rainer Rausch, head of marketing at Tegut, said, "Our goal was to launch the most individualised customer loyalty programme in food retailing.

"Customers who sign up for the new programme will not only save cash on their shopping from now on, they will be delighted by the individualised offers and shop with us more often."

Tebonus will give shoppers the chance to save on three of their favourite products on every purchase, without having to wait for special offers every week.

With tebonus, customers receive so-called basic points from a purchase value of €2 and earn additional points with selected promotional products.


In addition, customers can specify three favourite products of their choice to earn extra points on every purchase.


Shoppers can collect points by scanning their tebonus cards at the checkout, or using their digital cards stored in the app programmed specifically for tebonus.

The points collected can be redeemed like cash, the retailer added.

Rausch added, "The goal is to further expand the dialog with our customers and to continue to develop tebonus even after the launch."


Registration for the new customer loyalty programme is now open, the retailer added.

In February of this year, the German retailer expanded its grocery delivery service via Amazon Prime to greater Mainz and Wiesbaden.
