EU Exports To South Korea Increase 7% For January-April 2020

Exports from EU to South Korea grew 7% to €15.5 billion in the period between January-April 2020 compared to the same period last year, latest data from Eurostat has revealed.

Imports from South Korea declined 4% year-on-year to €15.3 billion in this period.

The largest decline in exports was seen for aircraft and associated equipment (-43%) as well as for pumps, compressors, fans and related products (-21%).

The export of other machinery increased by 78%, while motor cars and motor vehicles grew 36% and medicinal and pharmaceutical products by 49%.

In terms of imports, the most traded goods to the EU from South Korea were miscellaneous chemical products (108%), automatic data processing machines (76%) and medicinal and pharmaceutical products (24%).

The steepest drop in imports was seen for motor cars and motor vehicles (-24%), ships, boats and floating structures (-98%) and motor vehicles parts (-13%).
