  • Pacari has emerged as the best choice for ethical chocolate consumption in Europe, according to a recent study by the publication Ethical Consumer.

With 18.5 points, Pacari has topped the rankings and set an example of ethical consumption and fair trade in the UK.

For founder Santiago Peralta, this achievement reinforces Pacari's commitment to creating a sustainable and quality product.

"Pacari not only seeks to raise awareness among consumers and industries but to generate a radical change in the way chocolate is produced and enjoyed," emphasised Peralta.

In 2018, the New York Times listed the brand as 'the moral chocolatier.'

Pacari is an Ecuadorian company that produces top-quality, 100% organic, direct-trade chocolates and currently markets its products to 42 countries worldwide.

Through the 'From Tree to Bar' movement, Pacari created a business model around innovation, social and ecological responsibility, and direct trade with certified farmers.

It has succeeded in providing concrete solutions to social and environmental problems through a responsible product.

All of Pacari's organic cocoa suppliers' farms are certified by USDA Organic and the Organic Regulation 2092/91 of the European Union.

It has acquired the Demeter Biodynamic Certification, which guarantees that raw material production maintains a self-regenerating ecosystem, free of chemicals, pesticides and fertilisers.

Around 4,000 local small-scale farmers are part of its value chain. Pacari incorporates multiple wild and native agricultural products from the Andes, such as mortiño or uvilla, to encourage new sustainable organic production models in the Ecuadorian highlands, coast, and Amazon.

Pacari has received more than 300 international awards for its extraordinary quality.

In 2017, it was recognised as 'B Corp Best for the World' by the B Lab foundation. The brand ranked among the top 10 Best B Corporations for its role as an agent of change.

Since 2019, Pacari is transitioning to biodegradable packaging, and it has initiated a process to eliminate cardboard boxes.

Pacari means 'nature' in Quechua, the Andes' ancestral language, and represents the company's holistic approach towards the harmonious relationship between human beings and the environment.
