Carlsberg Group Names New Chief Human Resources Officer

Carlsberg Group has announced the appointment of Joris Huijsmans as its new chief human resources officer, effective 1 January 2021.

The new role will see him lead the brewer’s global HR Leadership Team and serve as HR business partner to the executive committee.

An Experienced Professional

Huijsmans is an experienced professional who joined Carlsberg in 2016 as Vice President of group strategy and was responsible for a wide range of strategic projects.

In 2018, he assumed the role of vice president for urban development and new business division. His role involved the reassessment of the company’s urban development project.

In 2019, he was appointed as the managing director of Carlsberg Export & License.

Huijsmans has more than 20 years’ worth of experience in the FMCG industry and emerging markets.

He has a broad background in general management, and sales and HR in various international senior management roles in the Netherlands, Mexico, Singapore and Hungary, the company added.

He holds a master’s degree in civil law from Leiden University in the Netherlands.
