Aldi UK Pushes Private Label Easter Chocolate With TV Ads

Aldi UK has unveiled its Easter television advertising campaign with one advertisement that highlights the price difference between its private label chocolate and a known brand's, and a second featuring a fairytale world made out of confectionary.

The first of these features a gorilla playing drums, who becomes excited when he notices the disparity in cost between an Aldi private label chocolate bunny and a Lindt chocolate bunny (both 100g), with the former costing £0.99 and the latter £2.

The second, the grocer's latest ‘favourite things’ advert, is made up of an Alice in Wonderland-esque chocolate world, and showcases the brands chocolate offering alongside a wider range of spring favourites.

"Customers often talk enthusiastically about their favourite purchases from Aldi, so we wanted this uplifting Easter advert to reflect that our stores are the home of everyone’s favourite things," said Jonathan Neale, joint managing director of corporate buying at Aldi UK, to TheDrum.com.
