Portugal's Continente Announces Health Care Plan For Consumers

Portuguese retail group Sonae has teamed up with insurance company AdvanceCare to launch a health plan for members of its Continente card loyalty program.

The estimated three million Continente discount card holders will benefit from up to 40% discounts on private health services in a network of about 5,000 contracted health providers. In addition, they will be credited 15% of the amount paid for health services on the Continente card, for later use.

Consumers that have spent at least €300 over the past six months in Continente hypermarkets or Well's pharmacies are eligible to subscribe to the plan. It can also cover up to 12 relatives or descendants.

The membership plan is renewed every six months.
