Lenta Opens Seventh Own Distribution Center
Lenta, one of Russia's largest retail chains, announced the opening of its seventh own distribution centre on Tuesday.
The new centre will serve 150 supermarkets in the Moscow and central regions, which will employ Lenta's own truck fleet to deliver goods.
The distribution hub which supplied Lenta’s Moscow supermarkets in the past will now only serve hypermarkets in the region, increasing the efficiency of the supply chain.
The company invested roughly RUB 2 billion in the new centre.
At the moment, Lenta's distribution centres can serve up to 250 hypermarkets and more than 250 supermarkets. The retailer plans to continue its expansion of supply chain infrastructure in the future.
