Lidl Unveils New Service in Germany to Compete With Amazon

Discounter Lidl has launched a new service in Germany that mirrors Amazon’s recently-launched 'Prime Pantry' offer.

The online range, available to customers has no minimum order fee and is free to use as part of a promotional offer until the end of November.

Shoppers will now be able to purchase a rage of products from Lidl.de by using the Lidl Vorratsbox (‘storage box’), and will be seeking to increase the range of products available using the service in the coming months.

Lidl has successfully sold wines over the Internet in the past. In competition with Amazon, the discounter promises delivery in two to three days.
