Campari UK Creates Relief Fund For The Hospitality Industry

Campari UK has announced that it has created a relief fund for front-line workers in the hospitality industry in the country and donated £100,000 to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 'Shaken Not Broken’ fund was created in collaboration with The Drinks Trust and TiPJAR, to help workers in the hospitality industry facing economic hardship in the UK.

Managing director of Campari UK, Brad Madigan, said, "We want this to be a broad-based community initiative – building a platform that allows anyone to donate to the fund. We encourage suppliers and agencies alike that are involved in the hospitality industry, and consumers too, to show they care about the hospitality industry by contributing a virtual tip to front-line workers who run our amazing venues and make the world’s best drinks here in the UK."

Distribution Of Funds

The distribution of funds, to be administered by The Drinks Trust, will focus on three areas, the company said.

These include monetary grants for people facing hardship, educational grants for training and improving employment opportunities post the crisis, and wellbeing grants for therapy services.

CEO of The Drinks Trust, Ross Carter, commented, "Working with Campari UK on this Shaken Not Broken Fund will enable us to help thousands of struggling hospitality workers nationwide.

"The generous £100,000 donation by the company will propel us forward significantly, and we hope many more people come forward to donate too so we can help those hospitality workers hit hardest by the pandemic in their local area."

Donations

Virtual tipping platform, TiPJAR has set up a Shaken Not Broken Fund page that allows people to forward their donations to the cause.

Donors have the option to choose specific areas in the UK which they wish to support through their contribution.

TiPJAR founder, James Brown, added, "TiPJAR was founded to help tipped workers such as bartenders and waiting staff collect cashless tips; when this crisis started we knew that we had to do what we could to help the industry we loved and workers who needed it so much.

"We were delighted to be able to provide the tech platform to collect tips and donations for the Shaken Not Broken Fund with Campari UK and The Drinks Trust."
