Agrokor Posts Record Profit, Thanks To Regional Market Performance
Croatian food-to-retail consortium Agrokor achieved a record profit of HRK 1.2 billion (€159.9 million) in 2015, the company has revealed.
The group, which operates the Konzum (Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina), Roda (Serbia), Idea (Serbia and Montenegro) and Mercator (Slovenia and Serbia) brands, achieved a turnover of HRK 49.4 billion (€6.58 billion) in 2015, compared to HRK 35.3 billion in 2014.
The biggest contribution came from Agrokor’s regional operations, where revenue grew from HRK 8.9 billion in 2013 to HRK 26.1 billion in 2015.
Leading the growth is Mercator, present in both Slovenia and Serbia (where it operates the Mercator and Idea stores), which achieved a turnover of HRK 19.5 billion last year. In Croatia, revenues went up from HRK 21.2 billion in both 2013 and 2014 to HRK 22.9 billion in 2015.
Agrokor operates a total of 1,912 retail outlets in the five markets in which it has a presence, and is visited by around 1.5 million consumers daily.
