Cimcorp To Showcase Its Robotic Handling Technology For Maximising Food Freshness At LogiMAT 2019

Cimcorp’s intra-logistics solutions provide rapid order fulfilment for optimising product shelf life and effectively managing today’s shrinking order-processing windows.

Using robots operating from overhead gantries, Cimcorp’s modular solutions provide food producers and retailers with instant access to every SKU, ultra-fast handling, and total picking accuracy.

Leading intra-logistics automation supplier Cimcorp will present its robotic handling technology at LogiMAT 2019 in Hall 2, Booth B05.

“These benefits contribute to freshness for food products,” said Kai Tuomisaari, vice-president of sales for Cimcorp.

'Competitive Advantage'

“They help maximise shelf life and secure a vital competitive advantage for our clients in the fresh-produce, bakery and dairy sectors. Brands such as Colruyt, Mercadona and Fazer are all reaping the rewards of investing in our robotic automation,” Tuomisaari added.

Faced with the challenges of an increasing variety of store formats, more frequent deliveries, and smaller order lines, grocery retailers must minimise the time it takes to get fresh products from the supplier to the store.

Controlled by Cimcorp’s warehouse control system (WCS), the robots effortlessly manage the entire material flow, from receiving to dispatch.

Tuomisaari added, “What is unique about Cimcorp’s solutions is that they combine buffer storage and order-picking in one efficient, flexible and scalable operation.”

It is not only perishable products that benefit from robotic handling. For companies challenged by seasonal peaks, such as breweries and beverage suppliers, gantry robot solutions provide the speed, capacity and flexibility required to cope with spikes in volume.

Automation Technology

Where automation of the entire distribution centre is not feasible, Cimcorp can supply an 'island' of automation, such as a system handling solely fresh produce, that is fully integrated with the surrounding manual operations.

Easy to instal, operate, maintain and expand, Cimcorp’s solutions offer a rapid return on investment.

By avoiding the need for racking, they ensure maximum space utilisation, while computer control ensures full tracking and traceability.

Another key advantage for the food industry is the system’s ability to clear the working area completely and automatically for hygienic cleaning.

Intra-Logistics Systems

Cimcorp has worked with customers on warehouse and distribution centre projects for more than 40 years and has supplied intra-logistics systems to a number of well-known beverage companies, including Carlsberg’s Sinebrychoff and the largest Finnish-owned brewery, Olvi.

In addition to solutions designed for full crate-picking, the company offers systems for picking layers and cases, as well as single items at goods-to-person picking stations.

In this way, Cimcorp’s systems are ideal for streamlining intra-logistics in the general retail, e-commerce, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and 3PL sectors.
