Delhaize Trials Range Of AH-Branded Products

Retail magazine Gondola has reported that Belgian retailer Delhaize has added a selection of private-label Albert Heijn products to its range, in a trial campaign entitled, 'Onze Buren Hebben Goede Smaak' ('Nos Voisins Ont Bon Gout'), or 'Our Neighbours Have Good Taste'.

According to the magazineDelhaize has emphasized that this is a temporary set-up. In a similar campaign last month, entitled 'The Tastiest from Belgium', Dutch retailer Albert Heijn offered a range of Delhaize products, chosen by its customers.

Speaking with Gondola, a spokesperson for Delhaize said that the customers were not involved in the Belgian version of the promotional campaign. "We have looked at which Albert Heijn products stand out and are still missing in our range. We'll see how the customer responds and will analyse the trial run according to sales figures and customer surveys."

The Albert Heijn range at Delhaize includes AH-branded organics, general products, and Dutch specialities. The organic products will be available throughout the country, but the typically Dutch specialities will only be available in Flanders.
