Former M&S Executive In Talks To Run Amazon Private Label Clothing Arm

There has been speculation that Frances Russell, who up until last year was the Marks & Spencer director of women’s clothing, will run an Amazon private label clothing division.

Various sources, including BusinessInsider.com and The Guardian, have speculated that the online retailer would launch such a venture when Amazon Fashion’s vice president of clothing, Jeff Yurcisin, said, "When we see gaps, when certain brands have decided for their own reasons not to sell with us, our customer still wants a product like that."

The Guardian now reports that Russell has held talks with a view to taking the helm of the operation.

Furthermore, Amazon has issued job-posting seeking a "fit specialist", "merchandiser" and "inventory manager" in recent months.

Russell left M&S in 2015.
