Jumbo Opens 'City' Store In Den Bosch

Dutch retailer Jumbo has announced its new ‘City’ store in Den Bosch, due to open on 13 December.

The store is aimed at catering to the daily needs for customers who work, study, shop or live in the city centre, according to the retailer.

The store will offer both food and non-food products in addition to a wide rage of fresh meals in synch with the different meal times, it said.

Jumbo said that customers can enjoy a delicious and fresh breakfast in the mornings and are welcomed in the afternoon with lunch products prepared on site like sandwiches. Later in the day, various evening meals are on offer including pizza and sushi.

Freshly Prepared Products

These products, in addition to freshly ground La Place coffee, La Place sausage rolls, apple dumplings and yoghurt on tap, are prepared in Jumbo’s own kitchen and bakery, the retailer said.

The meals and products are available at a competitive price and can be consumed in-store or as a take away on the road or at home, the retailer said.

"We are delighted with this new Jumbo City in the heart of Den Bosch", says Colette Cloosterman-van Eerd, member of the executive board and as CCO responsible for formula and innovation at Jumbo. "This allows us to respond to the wishes of customers in the city centre to be able to do their daily shopping, but also to buy freshly prepared sushi or a meal for take away. Because of this we are increasingly present at the time and place where the customer needs us and we continue to make tasty and healthy food easily accessible to everyone.”

The new store will open on Wednsesday 13 December on Visstraat in Den Bosch at 4pm.

Its opening hours are from 7 am to 9 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, from 7 am to 10 pm on Thursday, from 8 am to 9 pm on Saturday and from 12 am to 6 pm on Sunday.

Expansion

Jumbo recently also opened a Jumbo City at Eindhoven’s central train station catering for travellers.

The Dutch retailer is reportedly planning to expand into Belgium, with up to 30 new stores. According to Retail Detail, real estate agents have been asked to source suitable store locations for the retailer in Belgium, starting with thirty locations within the next two years.
